Windfall: jewellers of light

Clarissa Dorn and Roel Haagmans pursued their love for light and crystal when they established the WINDFALL company in Munich in summer 2004, in order to pave new ways in crystal luminaires design. Roel Haagmans had made his name on the international scene with his designs for classical/oriental chandeliers and Clarissa Dorn brought long-term experience in art, interior design and organisation with her. Their first joint designs, Scarlett and Hellbob developed a new lighting concept for crystal chandeliers so as to be considered a success today.

Interior designers and private owners have been rapidly drawn to these unusual designs which the company is commissioned to create in projects all over the world: like a tornado, WINDFALL has stirred up the traditional lighting sector. The first major projects were commissioned by architects such as KCA International, David Chipperfield and SHH of London and Paul Steelman Designs from Las Vegas.

The personal, passionate handling of their work, proximity to customers and the constant willingness to change has given this small company from the Maxvorstadt district of Munich the opportunity to collaborate with companies such as British Airways, Cartier International, Phillippe Starck, UN Studio, Candy&Candy, Roberto Cavalli and Montblanc.

But the success of WINDFALL’s work is not accidental: it’s down to the combination of visionary ideas with meticulous planning and focus on the details (the decorations are planned down to the last millimetre), along with years of experience in chandelier creation, well-founded knowledge of ornamentation, the use of the best materials and a passionate dedication to the work.

In September 2012 the “jewellers of light” Clarissa Dorn and Roel Haagmans opened their flagship showroom in Munich and in April 2013 they presented their new collections in Milan, at Palazzo Durini. In April 2015, WINDFALL took part for the fourth time to Milan Design Week, debuting at Euroluce. The German company introduced to the trade fair visitors its unique way to interpret the potentialities of the latest LED technologies.

In 2016, after the great success of the previous year at Euroluce, WINDFALL focused on brand new projects by participating to many prestigious realizations in deluxe hotels: inside the charming and luxurious Byblos Art Hotel Villa Amista’ in Italy, in the enchanting region of Alsace in France, in the sumptuous bar of the newly opened Château Hochberg, and in the restaurant of the historical residence Villa René Lalique. In February 2017,two luxurious and spectacular creations made by WINDFALL are included in the project BEAU HOUSE in London, led by the well-known architectural studio specialized in luxury interiors Oliver Burns. In April 2017, WINDFALL has been back to Milan, at Euroluce International Lighting Fair, with brand new hits.
