A walk among the flowers with Orticola di Lombardia in six museums in Milan.

This is the aim of the third edition of Museo City, an initiative promoted by the City of Milan in collaboration with the Associazione Museo City and with the presence for the first time of Orticola di Lombardia.

From 1st to 3rd March, Orticola di Lombardia allows you to know the characteristics of the white and pink flowers that holds the countess Antonietta Negroni Prati Morosini in the painting by Francesco Hayez of 1858 hosted at GAM Milano.

And the hidden fruits in the border of the Aromatherapy of the Astronomers, woven with gold yarns in Flanders around 1550 and that we can admire from the entrance staircase of the Museo Bagatti Valsecchi or finally discover the name of the red flower that the Child seeks to reach in the intense tempera on board “Madonna with Child”, work of about 1485 by Giovanni Antonio Boltraffio on the first floor of the Casa Museo Poldi Pezzoli.

Or if only the flowers that embellish the “Madonna of the Rosary and angels” are painted, painting by Andrea Mainardi called Il Chiaveghino at the Museo Diocesano di Milano and what are the bare trees and the lush ones that are the background to the Tapestries of the Months, called Trivulzio tapestries, created with the skilful use of wool and silk by Benedetto da Maiano and his collaborators and hung on the walls of the Sala della Balla at the Castello Sforzesco di Milano.

And how many fruits, leaves and flowers can be seen around and at the foot of the “Madonna della Candeletta”, oil on panel dated 1488-1490 by Carlo Crivelli present at the Pinacoteca di Brera.

The path created by Orticola di Lombardia, ad hoc for Museo City, reveals all these mysteries, satisfies many curiosities and allows us to see these works with different eyes and from an “all green” angle.
