IN ART SA: Selling exhibition at Freeport Luxembourg

On Thursday the 4th October the company IN ART S.A presented the exposition of the artworks of the Belgian artists Marguerite de Limburg Stirum and Michel Dutrieu.

The works presented during this event belong to the investment fund IN ART FUND. This innovative investment fund places on the pleasure placement that the acquisition of a work of art gives as an asset class in its own right. The investment fund is recommended by the art advisor IN ART S.A which implements specific strategies for the promotion of collections in museums and galleries with an international reputation.

Under the patronage of the Belgian Embassy in Luxembourg, Mr. Jean-Louis Six, Ambassador of Belgium, inaugurated the exhibition. The scenography of the showrooms was designed in such a way as to sublimate the 41 works presented by Michel Dutrieu and the 14 works of Marguerite de Limburg Stirum. This exhibition has attracted more than 150 collectors and amateurs from all around the world. Gathered around a cocktail, the guests admired these unique works, each of them being edited in a single copy. This event was followed by an exclusive dinner in a restricted committee at the IN ART offices located in the historic part of Luxembourg city

Marguerite de Limburg-Stirum
Born in 1932, Marguerite de Limburg-Stirum is an artist with an unusual background. Descendant of Rubens, she enrolled at the Brussels Academy when 20 years old. She continued her training at the “Blocherer Schule” in Munich. She then worked at the Prado in Madrid and followed an internship in Austria with Oscar Kokoschka. In 1960, her portraits were exhibited in New York City, at the Yolas Gallery. A few years later, in Paris, Marguerite became initiated to abstract art. In her memoirs, she tells a lot of anecdotes about her encounters with Dali, Yves Klein and Max Ernst. “While visiting his studio, Max Ernst told her «You only have to do my paintings, I will sign them and you will sell them very expensive!» Does a more beautiful compliment exist? Jean D’ORMESSON of the French Academy, Biography of Marguerite de Limburg Stirum, Paris, April 15th, 1972.

Michel Dutrieu
Born in 1910, Michel Dutrieu is a Belgian artist. Son of a painter, he was very early initiated to pictorial techniques. In the 1950s, Michel Dutrieu moved into his first personal studio at 37 Rue de la Charité in Saint Josse, Brussels, in the Félix Mommen’s workshops. His workshop formed a veritable village of painters who were nicknamed the “Montmartre Brussels” or the “Bateau-Lavoir” in reference to Paris. Dutrieu met several famous artists such as C. Meunier, A. Verw, J. Portaels, E. Wauters Mellery, Paulus, Rik F, Allard l’Olivier and many others. Dutrieu never left this place, and the magical spirit that reigned there. Founder of the “School of Brabant”, he created landscapes, portraits and nudes. He died in 1993 in Brussels. “It is thanks to artists of this notoriety that the art of the easel maintains its nobility and elegance.” Paul CASA for the 80th birthday of Michel Dutrieu.
