Floating Forest is the new project that Stefano Boeri Interiors has studied for Timberland, a greener future in which nature can reclaim urban spaces, even when they are dominated by concrete.

The goal of Timberland and the projects related to sustainability that the brand has been pursuing for years involving different artists and creative projects, is presented on the occasion of Milan Design Week 2022.

The brand’s collaboration with Stefano Boeri Interiors positions Floating Forest in Darsena, in the heart of the Tortona district and the city.

The studio founded by Stefano Boeri and Giorgio Donà has thought of a floating garden that breaks into the urban landscape and engages a discussion on the new forms of responsibility of citizens towards the city context.

The installation takes the name of Floating Forest and in addition to transmitting social responsibility, it is a meeting place for citizens and tourists. The 30 species included in the installation form an independent ecosystem, consisting of 610 trees in harmony with the ecosystem of other plants in Milan.

The scents and plants offer a 360-degree experience, including birches, maples, hydrangeas and other plants divided into four stages linked to the five senses.

The experience will continue online, while the Floating Forest plants will be donated to the Soulfood Forestfarms Hub Italia association, which facilitates the ecological transition of the territories.

Stefano Boeri Interiors and Timberland’s work will be open from 10.00 to 22.00 from 7 to 12 June.
