Indonesia’s coral reef is being reborn, partially restored as part of a large environmental protection project.
Approximately 40,000 square meters of coral reefs have been restored as part of a collaboration between local groups, the conservation organization The Nature Conservancy and the animal brand Sheba.
The project is part of a plan to restore 185,000 square meters of the world’s coral reefs by 2029. The coral reef intervention off the coast of Indonesia has seen an increase in coral cover from 5% to 55%.
These projects strongly supported by marine scientists can protect coral reefs around the world from the continuing threat of the impact of climate change.
