The 8th International Art Biennale is on in Beijing

The 8thedition of the Beijing International Art Biennale opened on August 30 at the National Art Museum of China, with 640 works by 595 artists coming from 113 countries. Titled “A colorful world and a shared future”, the exhibition mainly displays paintings and sculptures, including 446 works by foreign artists and 194 works by Chinese artists

The 8thedition of the Beijing International Art Biennale opened on August 30 at the National Art Museum of China, with 640 works by 595 artists coming from 113 countries.

Titled “A colorful world and a shared future”, the exhibition mainly displays paintings and sculptures, including 446 works by foreign artists and 194 works by Chinese artists.

Alongside the main show, the Biennale also hosts six special exhibitions on contemporary art from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries, Belarus, the Korean Republic, New Zealand, the United States, Spain and South America.

“The exhibits at this year’s BIABshow the artists’ concern for nature, life and the shared destiny of mankind” said Fan Di’an, president of the China Artists Association, at the opening ceremony of the Biennale.

The exhibition will be running until September 20.
