During the Milan Design Week 2022 the It’s Time for India event at the Castello Sforzesco was an opportunity for a first cultural dialogue between two incredible traditions of style and fashion, a new phase of experimentation between East and West, the beginning of a fascinating path of contamination between different cultures.
The event, which saw the presence of the Indian Consul T. Ajungla Jamir, as guest of honor, also represented the opening for the “Design Days Ahmedabad 2024”, the international event on luxury design to be held in 2024 in Ahmedabad, capital of Gujarat, a city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 2017.
The event will be curated by architect Hiren Patel, director of HPA, famous for luxury projects such as the Floated Concrete House, The Amoeba Office and The Village House, which embody timeless quality and a connection with nature.
I felt that something fundamental was missing in this city, known as Mecca or the Holy Grail of design and I felt the need to curate an international design event, a moment of sharing, presentation and exploration of all the facets of design. This is how the idea of hosting Design Days Ahmedabad 2024 took shape
declared the architect and curator.
International luxury furniture brands, world-famous architects, designers and planners will participate in the five-day event in which Italian, Indian and international design solutions, product exhibitions and exclusive design events of over 20 brands will be presented Indian and international luxury.
Designs Days Ahmedabad will be a meeting point for architects, designers, developers and providers of luxury design solutions to confront, explore and exploit professional opportunities in this thriving and aspirational city.
People from all over the world visit Ahmedabad in search of inspiration, drawn to its historic buildings and world-class design institutes such as the NID, the IIM designed by iconic architect Louis Kahn and the CEPT
said architect Hiren Patel.
From the Shodhan house to the ATMA building, the work of the famous Le Corbusier, the city boasts numerous architectural wonders and has also benefited from the works of legendary Indian architects such as Hasmukh Patel and BV Doshi.
In the Indian market, the demand for luxury homes is skyrocketing, as is the demand for large, ultra-luxury and quality design solutions, in synergy with nature.
The Indian Client appreciates the value of interiors and luxury residences and has the will to make their dream come true, a vast playing field for designers and the design sector.
adds Patel who believes in timeless quality and bond with nature.
Indeed, his architectural projects reflect a synergy between interiors and landscape.
Designing a building is like creating a painting on a canvas this is Patel’s creative philosophy, whose architectural sketches and travel drawings offer an interesting insight into the thought process and influences of his work.
