Gucci has inaugurated the Ecole de l’Amour

Gucci has inaugurated the École de l’Amour, an innovative training program designed to pass on the craft and production skills of the Florentine fashion house in the orbit of the Kering Group. A unique school of its kind, whose courses are divided into different activities: the Scuola dei Mestieri (six-monthly course within the Gucci ArtLab of Scandicci, designed to train professionals with skills in the design and production of leather goods, with the next registrations open in March 2019), the Factory School (a bi-monthly process in the Gucci factories, whose goal is to form a “production operator”, specialized in specific operations related to leather goods) and the Technical Academy (a program continuous internal)

The teaching staff is made up of skilled artisans, managers of the company who dedicate part of their time to lessons and former retired colleagues. “Transmitting skills, know-how and experience, especially in the field of craftsmanship and production – reads a statement – is essential for the long-term sustainability of a reality like Gucci, which will always respect the traditions of craftsmen remaining pioneers of design of the future ».

Currently, the industrial platform of which the brand is owner, including Gucci ArtLab, employs over 2,400 people. École de l’Amour is one of the initiatives included in Gucci Equilibrium, a platform that welcomes the brand’s ten-year sustainability program, called the Culture of Purpose, articulated on three pillars: environment, people and new models.
