“Objects do not only live once”, and Maria Silvia Pazzi knows it well. She is the founder and CEO at Regenesi, the leading business in post-consumer luxury that last May 16 won the “Best Performer in Circular Economy 2019” award for the manufacturing SME category.

Held in Rome, this prestigious national contest focusing on sustainable manufacturing was introduced this year for its first edition by Confindustria, and featured seven categories for an overall 160 participating firms.

Founded in Bologna over 10 years ago, Renegesi stands out for its “ethic” touch: by turning waste into beautiful “design and regenerated” products, it has joined the ranks of those Italian manufacturers guaranteeing both excellent quality and excellent production practices.

As a leader in circular economy in Italy, Regenesi is experiencing an extraordinary phase of its growth process, both in terms of popularity and technological innovation.

We aim at consolidating a double-figure growth rate in 2019 too

says Pazzi, the only woman entrepreneur to have made the podium.

In 2018, Regenesi’s turnover rocketed up by two points (+49%), with Italy remaining its reference market.

It’s mostly because our main clients are the brands we are collaborating with, which can rely on global distribution networks but still count as Italian clients for us

explained Pazzi.

Outside Italy, Regenesi has been meeting great success in Australia, Japan and the United States too, while France and Germany are the European countries to have proved most interested in its products.

Regenesi is partnering with internationally renowned designers to create recycled materials and turn them into fashion accessories, homeware and office decors that can be recycled once again.

A sustainability champion particularly sensitive to environmental and social issues, which it targets with a specific, expressly developed distribution policy.

We have always partnered with the largest shops of prestigious international museums such as Milan’s Triennale, Paris’s Pompidou or Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art. We are also delivering to concept stores like 10 Corso Como, in Milan as well

continued Pazzi.

Recently, Regenesi has opened to the retail channel with the temporary shop and shop-in-shop formulas. An exclusive distribution is Regenesi’s next big challenge: by 2020, the brand aims at inaugurating flagship stores in the main luxury streets

so we are willing to consider new collaborations with prestigious partners able to support us in the scale-up phase

she further explained.

Meanwhile, as she concluded

we are scheduling a 2019 launch in Northern Europe, particularly in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, through strategic partnerships with local distributors
