The transalpine luxury giants are at the forefront of helping to rebuild the cathedral of Notre Dame, symbol of Paris, which has suffered serious damage due to the fire that broke out last night.
Triggering the fundraising was the Pinault family, head of Kering, which announced a donation of 100 million euros. A few hours later, the other big luxury brand LVMH and the Arnault family that controls it, responded by raising and doubling: 200 million euros.
Francois-Henri Pinault, president and CEO of Kering, a group that owns luxury brands including Gucci, Pomellato, Saint Laurent, and president of Groupe Artémis, announced that he will donate over 100 million euros for the reconstruction of the cathedral, paid through Artémis, his family’s investment company.

The announcement of the Arnault family, which holds over 70 brands, including Christian Dior, Bulgari, Guerlain and Louis Vuitton, and which will donate 200 million euros, is very similar.
