24 international companies in the sector have announced their participation in the Fashion Pact, the system project that promotes sustainability in the fashion world launched in the summer at the G7 in Biarritz.

The Italian Calzedonia Group and Geox are three new entries, preceded by Ermenegildo Zegna, Giorgio Armani, Moncler, Prada and Salvatore Ferragamo by a few months. With the new adhesions – which include the names, among others, of Bally, El Corte Inglés, Farfetch, Decathlon, Gant, Kiabi and Mango – the number of signatory companies rises to 56, for a total of 250 brands represented.

The agreement, born under the aegis of the French premier Macron, was presented by the number one of Kering, François-Henri Pinault, to the heads of state gathered in the seaside resort of Biarritz on 26 August last.

At birth, the Fashion Pact had 32 companies in the fashion and textile world, including some giants such as H&M, Inditex and Kering.

The Fashion Pact welcomes brands like Nike, Adidas, Puma, Burberry, Hermès, Capri Holdings Limited, PVH, Chanel and Galeries Lafayette.

The great alliance for sustainability was created to indicate to the signatory companies some concrete objectives to be achieved in terms of climate, biodiversity and oceans.
