“In such a difficult moment for the whole country, there is a unique and indissoluble icon: the Italian flag. The Italian flag has gone through incredible adventures in the history and in the end has always been successful. The desire for unity, dignity and brotherhood is making us rediscover this icon, often forgotten by the craziness of modernity, “says Ugo Cilento, owner of Maison Cilento 1780.

Maison Cilento 1780 is proud to have re-edited the collection of ties dedicated to the Italian flag and glad to have received a positive feedback from its audience. “Nine years ago I designed a tie dedicated to the 150 years of Unità d’Italia. Today it becomes a message of strength and a wish for unity and solidarity in this difficult moment. Watching the Prime Minister enter all the Italian houses with this symbol was a great sign of hope and optimism for the future. Any product with our Italian flag has to be respected and honoured because it’s part of us! “, adds Ugo Cilento.

M.Cilento & F.llo dal 1780

Founded in Naples in 1780 as a tailoring business for clothing, ties, shirts, accessories and footwear, run by the Cilento family throughout and currently led by Ugo Cilento, the brand has always adhered to a traditional artisan sartorial approach, without industrial processes, with great care afforded to details, which result in unique, high-class items. Tailored products, as well as a wide range of clothing items, spanning from traditional to sportswear: pullovers, polo shirts, jeans-cut trousers, coats, belts, hats and much more for a total look in step with the times. The Boutique in via Riviera di Chiaia, in the amazing setting of Palazzo Ludolf, is a rare place with extraordinary charm, a small museum displaying objects from a private collection, such as eighteenth-century clothing, tailoring tools, antique furniture and furnishings that become perfect props for Cilento collections.
