Unique piece: 280 hours of work! Molnar Fabry Time Machine Regulator 911.
When watches and engines met, it was love at first sight and despite the great difference in age of those who never end in fairytales. To remind us today is Molnar Fabry with a unique piece of timepiece made to order for the owner of a Porsche 911 evidently also infected by the disease for the mechanics capable of measuring time.
Molnar Fabry – born Michal Molnar and Igor Fabry – are two independent Slovak watchmakers I met and met by chance at Baselworld this year; so crazy to make Time Machine Regulator 911 a single piece finished A to Z by hand in 280 hours of work.
Of the two artisans, and of the singular circumstance in which we met, I had already written in the review of Archeology.
This Time Machine has been requested with a grade 5 titanium case naturally also sculpted 100% in-house as well as the complication that transforms the immortal Caliber ETA 6498 into a regulator. All the sharp angles of the movement are hand-beveled like many of its skeleton components. The sinkers have been rhodium-plated in black and white ruthenium, the bridges are sanded on the surface. The two separate dials are 999/1000 Silver, the hands skeletonized and blued naturally by hand like many screws.
