It is all explained in a release reminding that the dates will remain the same as the ones initially planned for Watches & Wonders, recently cancelled by the Fondation de Haute Horlogerie (FHH) due to the coronavirus crisis. The brands’ announcement came just a few days after Baselworld 2020 was also cancelled (and postponed to early 2021).

The project was presented last Monday by Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bulgari, during a broadcast on the Swiss national television. The Geneva Watch Days will allow retailers and media to meet the Swiss watch brands in the capital of the Swiss watchmaking on specific dates, rather than taking part in several road shows in different European cities.

The international situation should not penalize our clients, many of whom want to meet the brands and plan their purchases according to the most interesting watch innovations

said Bulgari.

Besides the founding brands (Breitling, Bulgari, Gerald Genta, Girard-Perregaux, MB&F, Ulysse Nardin, De Bethune)

added Jean-Christophe Babin,

we are currently in advanced discussions with several other important names including Chopard and H. Moser & Cie., which we hope will be confirmed very soon. Plus some others which I’m sure will be interested after discovering our initiative

These brands will create a steering committee responsible for negotiating the best hotel and showroom rates. The committee will collaborate and work closely with the canton and city of Geneva and the relevant institutions to ensure the maximum safety and sanitary protection for all participants. The committee will also select any other brands wishing to join the Geneva Watch Days.
