Italy is the best destination in the world for wine enthusiasts, as confirmed by The World’s Best Wine Country, a survey carried out by online platform Lastminute.com that compared 30 wine-producing countries and awarded Italy the top of the chart.

Thanks to the range of wine & food experiences it offers, Italy outdid France, Spain and the Napa Valley, with each of its 20 regions boasting its own wine-making traditions. But Italian wine is not just leading wine-producing rankings any longer: it is now also topping charts of the best holiday resorts.

Two of the best Italian resorts where to experience authentic Italian-style holidays are surely Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, owned by Massimo Ferragamo, and Il Borgo, owned by Castello Banfi. Both embody the evolution of Italy’s wine-making traditions, synonymous with quality and expertise: Wine Experience thus becomes a way to promote the history and culture of the land by offering luxury, peace and a rich wine & food selection.

But what are wine resorts about? There is nothing as essential and yet captivating as ancient wine cellars that, once renovated, turn into oases of luxury where to relax surrounded by wonderful vineyards. Hidden paradises often far away from cities, immersed in the countryside of central Italy as well as in the rest of the country.

Excellent wines and exquisite cuisine are essential to any Wine Resort, alongside splendid suites and master bedrooms where the growing hustle and bustle of cities will be nothing more than a distant memory.
