The Teatro Espace, on the occasion of Terra Madre and Salone del Gusto, has presented the project Fibers textile recycled in food and fashion industries.
The event, held at the Teatro Espace in via Mantova 38 in Turin on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd September, included talks, presentations and product sales, networking sessions, live performances, music on stage, a photographic exhibition and installations on the theme of recycled textile materials or created using alternative fibers.
Inserted in the events calendar of Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2018, the artistic spin-off was the desire to work in a transversal way to bring art, dissemination and exhibition aspects into dialogue in a single cultural container. Ample space has been given to independent artisans and fashion industry producers who work ethically using innovative animal free or recycled materials, while the laboratory and performance art proposals investigated and offer a vision on the topic.
Textile fibers recycled in food and fashion industries born from a project by Ambra Gatto Bergamasco, artistic director of the Espace Theater that for years promotes new figures in cultural economics. Its mission is to involve a wide and heterogeneous public in a place able to intersect the concepts of ethical business with the performing arts. The aim is to implement audience development practices and create a non-niche community, but sensitive to artistic quality and the importance of implementing a sustainable system. The September edition is the first in a series of events dedicated to recycling fibers and to the sustainability of textiles and eco-business, flanked by high-quality artistic moments, and the second appointment, which will be in December, has already been scheduled.
