The National Chamber of Italian Fashion, in collaboration with Livia Firth’s Eco-Age and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Ice Agenzia, has announced the date of the fourth edition of the Green Fashion Awards which will go online next October 10.
Online, because the choice is digital. Directed by Emmy nominee Giorgio Testi and produced by Emmy Award-winning Pulse Film, with executive production by Tendercapital Productions, the fashion awards will use special effects and augmented reality thanks to Northhouse Studio, with celebrities and opinion leaders that will appear through holographic telepresence, courtesy of Arht Media.
This year’s extraordinary edition will focus on the themes of rebirth and solidarity, necessary for our society for a future under the banner of environmental and social justice, starting from Italy.
Two weeks before the event, the work done by stylists, artisans and individuals to create and promote sustainability in fashion will be visible on the web. The celebrities participating in the digital green carpet will share their wardrobe by showcasing precious and exclusive garments and looks, with a call to action that encourages everyone to take an active role in sustainable fashion.
The Green Fashion Awards will be broadcast on Sky on October 10, in all European territories, the United States and Asia, including the world premiere on YouTube, as well as during Shanghai Fashion Week, where a special event will be held in collaboration with the Chinese partner Apax to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the relationship between Italy and China.
This year there will be five prizes: the iconic Chopard statuette, produced in ethical gold, will be delivered to five recipients, marking the beginning of a new era.
We decided to create a digital event because we want to be there, even now, with an appropriate tone of voice but which contains a message of closeness and hope
commented the president of Cnmi Carlo Capasa
Today, at the moment of greatest vulnerability, we must rediscover that spirit capable of concrete answers and incredible dreams, that all-Italian spirit that has its roots in Humanism
Livia Firth added
Arundhati Roy called this period a “portal”, a door between one world and another. We can choose to cross it by dragging the skeletons of our old modus operandi. Or we can walk light, with little luggage, ready to imagine another world. And ready to fight for it. This is the strong message that will emerge from this year’s Gcfa. We were the first to celebrate sustainability in fashion and shed light on who intends to change the system in our industry. This year we also wanted to do the same in the way the event is produced and presented
