With the attendance of fashion experts such as Alia Khan, a leading fashion authority in the Middle East and Asia, and head of fashion and design initiatives in those regions, we can expect an exciting line up at International Fashion Summit. This event marks a new wave of fashion for the first time in France. The vision of this event is to forge new alliances, open up a powerful network, and build further collaborations to increase opportunities for 13 international designers that hail from Asia, USA, Middle East, Europe etc as they showcase their haute couture collections in Paris for the first time. Some of whom were discovered at the recent Torino Fashion Week in Italy as well as through Alia Khan’s organization based in Dubai and 10 other countries. “This type of talent is rare in France, and we are bringing them to our platform so we can build on the already powerful fashion assets we have in our country”, said Djamila Kerdoun, Founder and President of the International Fashion Summit. “I have gone far and wide to many countries to bring top talent from various backgrounds and cultures. My global network has led me to spectacular skill that will compliment the local scene in Paris. It’s a rare beauty, but because beauty exists everywhere, I plan to unveil it in this showcase“.
International Fashion Summit is a creation that followed the recommendations in Lyne Cohen-Solal’s report on fashionto the Minister for Culture and the Minister for the Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs. It was organized with the support of the Professional Committee for the Economic Development of Clothing (DEFI) and with the support of the French Federation of Couture, the Ready-to-Wear of Fashion Designers and the French Federation of Women’s Ready-to-Wear. Jean- Pierre Mocho, then president of the Federation for Women’s Ready-To- Wear concurred with this report.
