Excellence Magazine Sorrente Nostalgie

The Roman stylist Mauro Lorenzi, 44 years old, graduate in political science, has already experienced the success of his “Mauro Lorenzi Profumi” brand and the extraordinary popularity of “Septimontium”, his first collection, composed of seven excellency fragrances created with natural essences inspired by the seven hills of ancient Rome. His creative and entrepreneurial commitment to the art of perfumery is now being dedicated to Sorrento and its Coast.

After the Eternal City, you are moving on to Sorrento and its peninsula: how did you get this inspiration?

My affection for Sorrento and the Coast dates back decades. Many less famous towns have various perfumes dedicated to them. I wanted to add my homage, coming from my heart.

Why did you title the collection “Sorrente Nostalgie”, with only two fragrances, “L’Orange” and “La Mer”?

Excellence Magazine Sorrente NostalgieSorrento and its Coast are recognized for their beautiful nature, and the perfumes of their citrus owers and the sea. I asked tens of people what fragrances reminded them of Sorrento, and I got two unanimous answers: “L’Orange” and “La Mer”. An intense and energetic citric; a fresh iodine exhaling the breath of the sea. Made of natural essences.

Ideal as a gift for those who arrive or depart from Sorrento wishing to come back! Is it a tourist souvenir?

A certainly elegant gift for tourists. Not only an affordable price, but also an ideal purchase. Two long-lasting fragrances, only 50 ml each, also available singly.

How has the Sorrente Nostalgie been greeted in its effort to spread the name of Sorrento across the world? Will the two perfumes be the ambassadors of our land?

Excellence Magazine Sorrente NostalgieIt has been greeted with the mayors’ very positive and encouraging reactions, first of all by the mayor of Sorrento, and also by hotel and restaurant managers and local perfume shops. That is why, in agreement with the management of the hotel hosting the party-presentation on this Hollywood-style terrace, my friend and extraordinary artist Antonio Marino will honour us with his most beautiful interpretation of some classic Neapolitan songs and international music.

A fragrance that immediately evokes the scents of citrus orchards in full bloom on the Sorrento coast, with their oranges that, over the centuries, have inspired poets and musicians alike: the bright fruits of an incomparable landscape, where nature and culture blend in total harmony. Inebriating Bergamot notes find their ideal place next to irresistible hints of Cedar. The heart is a mellow combination of Laurel, Rose and Aromatic Green Notes that blend with the elegant background accords of Vetiver and White Musk.

A fragrance reminiscent of the sea breaking onto the cliffs, the marinas and the mysterious caves of the “Gulf of Sorrento”. The powerful notes of the Low Tide bring back the memories of a bright and sunny day, with the scent of the sea evoking a sense of completeness and vitality, a feeling of being one with the water. Along the high cliffs, the salty notes of Iodine, Salt and Marine Seaweed blend with the Myrtle and Cedar aromas of the Mediterranean scrub wafting in waves from the hills.
