Elegant settings, culinary refinement, breathtaking landscapes outside the window: a modern reinterpretation of the Dolce Vita aboard a train that travels through the wonderful landscapes of Italy. The luxury tourist service was born from the collaboration between Trenitalia and the Arsenale company. The atmosphere is typically 60s and the passengers who use the service will not only make a trip, but an exclusive and unique experience in the world.
The inauguration trip involved the short section from Rome to Civitavecchia, for the sole purpose of presenting the service. However, the actual routes will start only at the beginning of 2023. The fleet will initially consist of 5 trains, protagonists of the 10 itineraries to discover the beautiful country from North to South.
The itineraries of the Dolce Vita Train, as we said, will be 10 in all, for a total of 126 thousand km. The trains will cross 14 Italian regions, touching 128 municipalities starting from the Alps and arriving in Sicily.
Among the itineraries there will be one that, starting from Milan, will cross the Via del Brennero and on the trail of Amarone will reach Cortina d’Ampezzo. Also from Milan will start the route that heads south, towards Liguria, passing through the vineyards of Monferrato and up to the splendid Portofino.
In central Italy, on the other hand, both a southward path that reaches the suggestive Lucanian city of Matera and a Tyrrhenian path that, heading north, reaches the city of Tarquinia crossing the Via Tirrenica and the Val d’Orcia will start from Rome.
There will also be two island itineraries dedicated exclusively to Sicily: one from Palermo to Messina and the other from Palermo to Trapani, to discover the wonderful west coast.
