The American School of Milan announces the Annual Community Gala that will be held at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel in Milano on Thursday, March 14 starting at 7:00 pm.
This year’s Gala committee, energized by a dedicated and enthusiastic group of creative community members, has organized a unique event that includes live music, some dancing, delicious food, and warm and interesting conversation to celebrate the community and support the goals of the American School.
Again this year, our gala will support the ASM Fund for Excellence (FFE), a program designed to bring the extraordinary to our school as we help students to “Become More”. We believe that one person, one experience can change a young life. As a non-profit association, we rely on fundraising to help us sustain this mission. This event is more than just a fundraiser, but an evening to connect our community in a single mission to support our children! In addition to the festivities, the Gala will include a silent and live auction.

In October 2014, ASM launched the Fund for Excellence as a fundraising effort to bring the extraordinary to ASM. The goal of the fundraising is to raise € 150,000 + per year to make these ideas a reality!
Since its inception five years ago, we are pleased to report that we have raised €792,180 to fund 60 extraordinary projects that have positively touched our children’s lives

Specifically, the Fund for Excellence was created to offer resources for learning opportunities and inspiring educational initiatives that go beyond existing academic programs. These initiatives are designed to inspire the children and may include but are not limited to:
- Invitations to professional experts in a variety of fields to visit ASM to work with our students. This could include scientists, artists and “Writers in Residence!”
- Fund specialized equipment (for science, music, art, etc.) to inspire and facilitate hands-on learning to target learning.
- Organize conferences, workshops and student exchanges for both students and teachers that will diversify the quality of ASM curriculum offerings.
