“CHANEL-PHARRELL”: the Urban capsule collection by Pharrell Williams for Chanel

In the beginning it was a fashion show, and then another one, and another one. Then there was his appointment as brand ambassador of the “Gabrielle” bag and his role as designer of a pair of sneakers in 2017.

And let’s not forget his appearance in a film directed by Karl Lagerfeld, for which he also wrote a song.

Between Chanel and singer Pharrell Williams there is definitely a long-standing synergy, or rather, borrowing an expression from the world of music, a true harmony.

Today the singer of “Happy”, winner of 12 Grammy Awards, returns to the maison with the launch of his collaboration, “Chanel-Pharrell”, a capsule collection of clothing and accessories for spring / summer 2019, including about forty pieces, characterized by bold colors and an urban, genderfluid spirit.

This trend was first launched by Coco Chanel, the always fashion forward founder of the maison, who loved to borrow men’s clothes – something that the singer, who casually combines the brand’s iconic pearls with formal- and sports-wear, definitely shares.

The line designed by Pharrell Williams includes ready-to-wear garments such as short and long unisex t-shirts, color-block sweaters and sweatshirts, rhinestone jewelery, sneakers and moccasins, pop-style glasses, backpacks and oversize bags characterized by themed embroidery, CC, N ° 5 and Coco-inspired graffiti and ironic prints.

To celebrate the launch of the collection and the consolidation of this partnership, a short movie, loosely based on the Japanese animated film “Akira”, features the singer surrounded by it-models, including Soo Joo Park, Yoon Young Bae, Adesuwa Aighewi, Alton Mason and Anok Yai.

The capsule will be launched exclusively from March 28thin Seoul, in the tenth Chanel flagship store in South Korea. From April 4thit will be distributed in the rest of the world in selected boutiques.
