The Splendid Royal hotel in Lugano hosted the presentation of Excellence Fine Art, the new art magazine that expands Excellence Magazine’s editorial project.
Hosted by sublime Angela Tuccia, the night was a chance to meet again in compliance with the laws after the long social distancing period due to the Covid-19 emergency.
The event was sponsored by Art & Luxury Investments Fund and EBA Brokers. Investing in the art and luxury sectors, Art & Luxury Investments Fund was born of the passion of its founders, a team of professionals with a strong financial background aiming to use to this tool to generate value from an industrial management of the niche target sectors. EBA Brokers is an insurance broking company founded in Italy and active in 130 countries around the world, represented by CEO and founder Carlo De Simone.
The event saw the participation of some of the artists featured in the first issue of Excellence Fine Art, including Stefano Bressani, the maestro of a technique considered as unique on the scene of international contemporary art. He uses fashion textiles to sew his work with a tailor’s care, and it is no coincidence that many call him the tailor of art.
Besides research, technique, and expertise, his style is also based on the philosophy of using the beauty of art to make eternal what is normally limited in time, like clothes.
His work on Picasso, which was previewed during the night, is a tribute to the artist who inspired Bressani to start expressing himself in his personal broken-up language, where the fabric volumes and the nails stand for the concepts behind his work, resulting of the inconsistencies that the nails themselves hold together.
Artist Antonello Paladino also attended. Born in Sala Consilina, in the Italian region of Campania, he was a student of Mauro Mazzali at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, and draws inspiration from Calder, Melotti, Manzù and Klee. Inside the large spaces of the Venturi Arte foundry, he crafted his latest work, dedicated to great maestro Lucio Dalla.
The night ended with a deeply emotional moment during a preview of a short film made by internationally renowned artist Alberto Di Fabio and directed by Edward Alexander Haschke, a promising young movie star. Inspired by the Odyssey and Ulysses’s shipwreck on the island of Ea, the short film was entirely shot on the island of Ponza. Commenting on it, Di Fabio described it as “a small fragment that grasps the dream of creation for the elevation and the enlightenment of the soul”.
Excellence Fine Art’s editorial team was also present, including art director Chicco Sabbatella, graphic and layout designer Luca Ferroni, editor Pamela Campaner, publisher Cristina Pezzini, editor-in-chief Emanuela Zini, and founder & chairman Luigi Lauro.
