It was 1986 when the TOD’s Group launched the Hogan brand, born of a trip to New York and an idea by Andrea Della Valle: he noticed a crowd of ambitious managers running through their routine in suits, unexpectedly matched with “temporary” trainers worn to cross the Big Apple only to be replaced with more elegant shoes once at work.
A common daily scene was the inspiration for a shoe that blends comfort and elegance: the first model was a basketball version with influences from the world of cricket, which combined sophisticated design and premium manufacturing. All rigorously made in Italy, or rather in Brancadoro, the enormous hub and headquarters where the Group’s brands are made, with handcrafting know-how and excellent materials.
With its luxury sneakers, leaders in the fashion world, Hogan is a true sportswear statement. The brand met an instant success and soon extended its collections to accessories and leather goods. The rest is history – a history marked by continuous research, revamped iconic pieces and collaborations with designers and brands as prestigious as Karl Lagerfeld and Aston Martin.
The latest Fall/Winter 2019 collection is inspired by the North Pole’s extreme weather and landscapes. Atmospheres frozen in time, blue-streaked glaciers and white pack ice shaped the new Interaction sneakers.
Exaggerated volumes, the ultra-light outsole that supports and dampens steps and a patchwork of materials give Hogan’s latest creations a futuristic, glamorous allure.
The Interaction sneakers blend metallic leathers (polished and plain, or embellished with embroideries), Swarovski crystals or sequins, and mirror and scuba fabrics. One of the models comes in white leather paired with a shimmering silver, another one in mixed colors and twill with technical laces, a third one combines two different kinds of black leather.
Last, the brand looks to the future with its new, rounded H side monogram.
