Winter has arrived in St. Moritz and the ice has finally reached sufficient thickness to safely support the infrastructure of the polo tournament which will take place, as planned, from 27 to 29 January.
The Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz 2023 will thus once again be the protagonist of a fascinating challenge which, thanks to the uniqueness of this sport, will allow professionals and amateurs to play together.
Argentina has a strong tradition of polo dynasties, with families such as the Harriotts, Heguys, Mac Donoughs and Pieres providing some of the best teams. A recent example of this is when Adolfo Cambiaso, the number one polo player in the world, and his 17-year-old son Adolfo “Poroto” Cambiaso won the Argentine Open in Palermo in Buenos Aires.
Looking closer to home, we are very curious to see if the World Polo League Team with captain Melissa Ganzi and her son Grant or the St. Moritz Team with father-son duo McCarthy will also be able to take home the coveted trophy at St Moritz…
