In collaboration with Galanthea (www.galanthea.com), a company designing and managing exclusive events, and Excellence Magazine, THE VIEW Lugano is hosting an exclusive soirée on March 5th 2018 to celebrate the world of cinema and the Oscars which this year is celebrating its 90th anniversary. The red carpet will be rolled out in front of the elegant designer hotel, winner of “Switzerland’s Leading Design Hotel Award” at the “World Travel Awards” for the third year running, where some of the most famous faces in Italian cinematography will be welcomed.
The evening’s host is Enrico Vanzina, screenwriter, producer, writer – his latest novel “La sera a Roma” came out just a few days ago – journalist and winner of countless prizes including a De Sica award, a Flaiano prize and the Nastro d’Argento. Diego Abatantuono, Michele Placido, Giancarlo Giannini, Virna Lisi, Monica Vitti and Monica Bellucci are just a handful of the actors he has worked with. He has also written for a number of international actors, including Faye Dunaway, Rupert Everett and Elliot Gould. By his side throughout the evening is the beautiful Isabella Ferrari, one of the most acclaimed film and theatre actors. She won a special Nastro d’Argento in 2004 for “La grande bellezza”, Best Foreign Film at the 2014 Oscars, Best Actress at the Rome International Film Festival in 2012 for “E la chiamano estate”, the Premio Pasinetti for the Best Actress at the Venice International Film Festival in 2008 for “Un giorno perfetto” and the Coppa Volpi for the Best Supporting Actress at the Venice International Film Festival in 1995 for “Romanzo di un giovane povero”.
The evening is dedicated to a celebration of the world and people of cinema. Unseen clips and unmissable “behind the scenes” moments will be screened, and commentary will be given about the nominations and winners of the prestigious golden statues. Guests will be taken along the intriguing and compelling pathway of recent filmography; any questions they have will be answered by the hosts, including during the exclusive standing dinner served on the terrace boasting a breath-taking view over the bay of Lugano.
