Pitti Uomo returns to Florence

The theme of this event is Pitti_Island, the metaphor of an island where operators from all over the world meet and where new ideas are discovered

The 102 edition of Pitti Uomo debuts today, which will animate Florence until June 17 in the Fortezza da Basso. The organizers field 682 exhibitors and leverage a parterre of special guests that includes the names of Ann Demeulemeester, Grace Wales Bonner, Sapio and Soulland.

The theme of this event is Pitti_Island, the metaphor of an island where operators from all over the world meet and where new ideas are discovered. A reference to the role of the exhibition and a concept that inspires the institutional campaign, also characterizing the setting up of the spaces in the Fortezza.

682 brands present, of which 280 from overseas, welcomed in five macro-sections.

Fantastic Classic represents the classic in its most contemporary versions; Dynamic Attitude proposes an outdoor concept in which sport and streetwear meet; Futuro Maschile is a journey through the evolutions of contemporary menswear; Superstyling emphasizes the stylistic canons that anticipate new trends.

The path is completed with S | Style sustainable style, a format on responsible menswear that relies on the support of Unicredit (main sponsor of the event) and which sees a parterre of designers on the track, careful to produce according to eco-responsibility criteria.

Five sections in total plus two international projects, namely the return of the Scandinavian Manifesto area in collaboration with Revolver Copenhagen – dedicated to innovation that comes from the Nordic fashion scene – and the initiative in support of Ukrainian designers, by Pitti Discovery Foundation, created with the special contribution of the Cr Firenze Foundation.

Again the partnership with Unicredit to re-propose the projects at Unicredit Theater, where talks dedicated to sustainability alternate during the four days.

As always, the event is enriched by a program of special events, which see in the spotlight, as announced at the opening, the guest designer Grace Wales Bonner and the guest of honor Ann Demeulemeester, alongside the special projects dedicated to Soulland and Sapio.

There are still many special events, including the anniversaries of Roy Roger’s (70 years), Wp Lavori in Corso (40 years) and Antony Morato (15 years).

Focus also on the official debut of Incotex Blue Division (the denim line created in partnership with Giada), on the new Robe di Kappa collection and on the eco-sustainable world of Ecoalf.

Among the highlights also stand out the colab of Pierre Louis Mascia with Diadora (from which a sneaker model is born), the comeback of Fila and the special events of Superga and Bagutta, the latter struggling with a phase of renewal.

In parallel with the physical show, Connect returns, the digital fair which, acting as a counterpart to the exhibition in Fortezza da Basso, offers exclusive formats and events. An initiative in progress, which at the last edition recorded a 96% increase in visits and a significant turnout of buyers (12 thousand only those with logos), up by 30% on the previous edition and with 36% coming from the abroad.
