The funds raised during this event will support a part of the renovation works of the Princesse Charlène de Monaco municipal swimming pool of La Turbie and a swimming program at Awutu-Winton High School in Ghana.

Since 2014, 1,875 children from the schools of La Turbie, Eze and Peille, have benefited from the support of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation at La Turbie swimming pool as part of the «Learn to Swim» programme.

In June 2017, the swimming pool was officially named « Piscine Municipale Princesse Charlène de Monaco ». In 2018, some notable renovation works have been led by the La Turbie’s municipality. 1,4 M. € were necessary, 100.000 € of which will be financed by the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.

The new swimming pool is now accessible to disabled people.

The eco-friendly heating systems will allow the swimming pool to stay open from May to September.

In November 2016, the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation has participated with his partner, the English association Educational Development Projects Trust at the official inauguration of the swimming pool of Awutu-Winton Senior High School, at Awutu Bereku in Ghana

To date, more than 1.400 children benefited from the « Learn to Swim » programme.

By donating this pool and by financing the swimming and water safety courses, the Foundation is glad to add this activity to the classes attended by the 440 students launched on 14 December 2012, the primary objective of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation is to save lives by putting an end to drowning.

Its missions are to raise public awareness about the dangers of water, teach children preventive measures and teach them to swim.

Excellence Magazine has had the honor of being media partner of the event.
