Pucci goes back to his origins

Emilio Pucci

The historic Italian brand will show in Florence in May.

Pucci returns home to his native Florence, a city that has always been the emblem of the brand founded by Emilio Pucci, Marquis of Barsento in 1947.

Artistic director Camille Miceli announces that it will be possible to buy immediately what seen on the catwalk: “Exploring the roots of the maison in a fresh way, and as a continuous homage to Emilio Pucci, the ‘Initials E.P.’ summer collection will be immediately available online and in boutiques from from May 4, 2023”, explains an official note.

In addition to being the first woman to lead the brand, Miceli is also the first full-time designer to take the reins of Pucci after Massimo Giorgetti, the founder of MSGM, who left Pucci in 2017.

The role had previously been held by Peter Dundas, Matthew Williamson, Christian Lacroix and Julio Espada. The maison also collaborated with Koché and Tomo Koizumi, who acted as guest designers.

Last June Pucci, owned by Lvmh since 2000, appointed the new CEO Saar Debrouwere, previously executive vice president of design and product of the Icicle Shanghai brand and with experience in Acne Studios, Ad!dict creative lab and Af Vandevorst.

In 2021 Lvmh completed the acquisition of Emilio Pucci reaching 100% of the capital of the maison, sanctioning the transfer of 33% of the shares of the brand still in the hands of Laudomia Pucci, daughter of the founder, to the French giant.
