For the new collection of the daughter of the former Beatles Paul, the designer has chosen the futuristic setting of the Espace Niemeyer in Paris.
Finally with the public in her presence, Stella McCartney still wanted everyone to be able to admire her creations thanks to the direct social of the show.
Among the always luxurious and innovative creations, the real star of this Paris fashion week show was undoubtedly the new bag presented by the designer.
The new leather bag… made of mushrooms
Her name is Fryme and Stella McCartney herself announces it as the first in the world made with mushroom skin.
The bag was in fact created in Mylo, the new biomaterial from Bolt Threads.
We speak of “vegan skin”; it is in fact a material that is completely similar to leather in terms of tactile sensation and softness but has nothing animal about it.
Mylo in fact derives from the mycelium, the underground apparatus of mushrooms.
The colors of the mushrooms were taken up by Stella McCartney precisely for her collection and for the bag: from musky tones to shades of green, from red to black to purple, from orange to lavender.
The inspiration for the new sustainable collection:
The designer, who has always been a champion of the environment, admitted that she was inspired by the Italy 2020 pavilion of the EXPO in Dubai.
In fact, the pavilion was also created thanks to the processing of recycled materials such as orange peels, coffee grounds, mycelium and mushrooms.
Once again, therefore, the designer wants to send a clear message to fashion victims from all over the world: the new luxury fashion can create wonders also thanks to sustainability.
