A relentless fabric experimentation and fashion revolution, especially in sportswear, from the 1980s until modern times. Pioneering creations of a visionary, versatile mind like Massimo Osti’s, a designer landed on the fashion planet by chance, with a job as a graphic.

In the revolutionary fervor of Bologna in the 1970s, Osti extends the age’s rebel spirit to clothing, and questions traditional fashion. His goal is clear: freeing stiff, tight clothes from all constraints to make them functional and convenient. He reaches it starting from one of his many ideas, like dyeing old clothes to revamp their color – inspired by Italian housewives’ habits – or using silk-screen prints for the label he founded: Chester Perry (renamed C.P. Company later on).

A brand just as successful as Stone Island, the other label launched in 1982 and ever since an emblem of textile research, innovative design and functionality. Embodying ground-breaking technowear, it is still a cult phenomenon among today’s young generations.

This strong, distinctive style project originated from uniforms and workwear, revisited in a new, functional key. Leading a sportswear reinterpretation that transcends mere aesthetics, Stone Island blends human expertise and advanced technologies in its Ravarino headquarters,  in the area of Modena.

A thirty-year evolution and continuous research on the transformation of fibers and fabrics, such as outerwear in nylon mono yarn, obtained by modern water filtration methods, thermo-sensitive and refractive canvases, Kevlar® felts and polyester, just to name a few.

In this Fall-Winter 2019 collection, the brand with the rose compass logo builds on its rich heritage of treated materials. This time, the combination of the brand’s expertise in garment dyeing techniques and ECCO®’s revolutionary technologies in leather tanning has resulted in a new clothing and footwear collection.

The leather is laminated with a thin non-woven fabric made in Dyneema®, the most resistant and durable fiber in the world.

In the early stages of boot production, ECCO®’s Fluidform® process turns the soft dampening Phorene® fluid into an anatomic outsole, which it directly integrates with the leather uppers, before Stone Island’s high-temperature garment dyeing process finishes the shoes.

The reversible gilet can be worn either with the leather side and its reflective patches out, or with the Dyneema® side out, bearing a series of diagonal Velcro tapes and snap buttons to apply up to four Naslan pockets.

On the inside, the gilet hides a second detachable padded vest in Naslan Light, to be worn solo, with similar diagonal tapes to support pockets.
