Tiffany and the most expensive jewel ever: 80 carats of sustainability

Since its founding in 1837, Tiffany & Co. has been synonymous with elegance also thanks to its exceptional precious stones

The powder blue box is the forbidden dream of all women: opening that magical package means wearing an exclusive jewel.

Since its founding in 1837, Tiffany&Co. has been synonymous with elegance also thanks to its exceptional precious stones.

Tiffany’s records in history have not been few: just think of the splendid 75.47-carat square-cut Hooker emerald, on display at the Smithsonian museum in Washington.

One cannot mention Tiffany without thinking of the legendary yellow Tiffany Diamond, a priceless stone.

Every record of the maison will be beaten: the announcement of the creation of the most expensive jewel ever made has arrived.

History and characteristics of the jewel of records

Tiffany&Co. is ready to amaze the world with the reissue of a historic necklace made for the 1939 New York Universal Exhibition.

This time the jewel will live in a new light thanks to an exceptional diamond just purchased by the maison.

To revive the 1940s jewel will be the replacement of aquamarine with the record diamond: oval shape, 80 carats, D color and IF clarity, the top of the standards required for the most precious stone.

The creation of the series of records is linked to an exceptional event for Tiffany&Co.: the reopening of the single-brand store on New York’s Fifth Avenue.

The sustainable diamond

The store in the heart of the Big Apple will reopen its doors in 2022.

Meanwhile, the world has been enchanted by the splendor of the most expensive diamond ever purchased by the maison.

A diamond of inestimable value but also embellished by the sustainability that characterizes it.

The stone comes from Botswana and is a symbol of the diamond traceability policy strongly promoted by Tiffany&Co.: the precious diamond comes from a responsible supply chain and will be assembled by the Maison’s artisans in New York.
