Alivar furnishings for an exclusive apartment in Mumbai

The suburban area of Upper Juhu in Mumbai hosts the largest residential complex in the Indian metropolis, with almost 4,000 m2 of greenery and the presence of multiple recreational facilities, from the extensive ‘infinity’ swimming pool to the fitness centre. This ambitious project is conveyed in all its splendour in the exclusive apartments which offer an oasis of peace and quiet within the home thanks to a specific choice of colours and furnishings featuring sophisticated minimalism.

This stylistic flair finds its utmost expression in the furnishings by Alivar, which were picked for an apartment on the third floor of one of the residential buildings. In a styling ‘dialogue’ amid neutral shades – from white to dove-grey, custard and beige – and the pursuit of materials, such as leathers and the finest fabrics, the space stretches across a large living room, a dining room, a ‘family room’, three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a kitchen and an outdoor balcony. The large Land sofas, with their enveloping volumes, along with the sinuous Carol armchair, distinguished by a comfortable adjustable headrest, surround the Poggio coffee tables with marble tops, thereby becoming the genuine stars of the living area. Continuing through the reserved area onto the dining room, the Liuto table fills this space discretely and elegantly thanks to its light-weight, harmoniously shaped silhouette and the smoked glass table top. Liuto blends in seamlessly with all types of seats, from more traditional chairs to the most modern models available, such as the Denise armchair in dovegrey, whose aluminium legs recall the frame of the table legs. The ‘family room’ too, a smaller place to get together, reflects the styling of the living room with the Swing sofa, covered in soft leather, and the Sirio set of coffee tables, picked in two different heights and sizes and distinguished by an extremely clean-cut shape. Thus, even from the communal spaces of the home, one gets the feeling that the choice of colours and materials is the result of the designer’s desire to introduce elements that help reproduce a feeling of calm and serenity, like stone or glass. The latter makes the setting even brighter, despite the existing wealth of light afforded by the large windows and by the balcony, for which the Wing lounge chair in white woven rope was selected. Natural light also ‘fills’ the bedroom area, equipped with two exclusive beds by Alivar which conceal – behind an apparent sober simplicity – an impeccable styling research which is clearly visible in the slightly rounded headboard with bevelled edges of the Maya bed or in the large headboard cushions of Oasi, guaranteeing the utmost levels of comfort.
