From June 18 to 23, the best of the Italian and international boat manufacturing industry meets Italian style and green technologies
Dream boats and more. The best creations by Italian and international shipyards will be showcased next week at the Venice Boat Show, running from June 18 to 23. Field professionals and boat lovers will have a chance to discover the secrets of around 100 boats, including over 50 yachts and super yachts from 15 to 50 meters in length.
The brightest star about to dock at Venice’s Arsenale is the brand-new 50-meter “Race” by Riva, which will be unveiled to the world with a private celebration just a few days before the show opens. The ship was built in steel at Riva’s Superyacht Division in Ancona, and is a flagship of Ferretti Group’s. The firm’s fleet will be on site in Venice with 11 boats by Riva, Ferretti, Pershing and Custom Line, whose new 106 designed by Francesco Paszkowski will also be exclusively premiered in Venice.
Riva 50 embodies the ambitions of founder Carlo Riva. Between the ‘60s and the ‘70s, driven by a genial, enterprising will to overcome limits, he created the famous M/Ys from the Caravelle and Atlantic series: huge steel yachts that modern “Race” descends from, as the worthy heir of their unrivaled aesthetics, style and innovation. Riva 50 MT is the result of the partnership between Officina Italiana Design, the studio founded by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, and the brand’s Strategic Product Committee, which Piero Ferrari is also a part of.
Monte Carlo Yachts, whose production site is based in Monfalcone on the Adriatic coast, will showcase two new models launched this year: MCY 66 and MCY 70.
It will be a unique chance to have a preview of the second generation of the line, which is about to welcome the new MCY 76 coming next July.
These three new projects prove and enhance the signatures of the Monte Carlo Yachts models, in a constant search for elegant and essential silhouettes. Their style successfully blends tradition and innovation, in line with the “future classic” concept elaborated by design studio Nuvolari Lenard. Owned by Venetian Carlo Nuvolari and Slovenian Dan Lenard, the firm is based in Veneto, and designed the whole range by Monte Carlo Yachts, part of the Beneteau group.
Besides displaying the latest designs and builds, as well as the ground-breaking technologies they feature, the Vittoria di Adria shipyard will focus on the powerful, elegant lines of its creations in showcasing two interceptor pieces built for watch services: the Interceptor 43 and the Vittoria Fast Interceptor 65.
These prototypes combine the ultimate performances of professional units with the Italian crafting expertise in the design and construction of leisure boats. Featuring a mimetic coating to disguise in the sea, the Interceptor 43 was built in compliance with the strict standards adopted by the US Customs and Border Protection.
The Cantiere Cranchi shipyard, based in Piantedo (Lombardy) but also owning a large production site in San Giorgio di Nogaro (Friuli-Venezia Giulia), will parade its T53 Eco Trawler, a boat that adds modern technologies to a classic trawler– a way of sailing now raising new interest for the low-consumption comfort it pursues. They shipyard will also unveil a contemporary evolution of the traditional flybridge motoryacht.
As far as sailboats are concerned, Neo Yachts & Composites will present its brand-new Neo 350, a perfect union of regattas and cruises that recently stood out in the ORC World Championships in Šibenik, Croatia. Invented by Paolo Semeraro, a talented sailor who started his career on the Finn, the Neo boats are designed by Giovanni Ceccarelli, and built for extraordinary performances.
The show will give large space to hybrid and electric boats as well. Two Northern-European constructors will attend: Swedish X-Shore, a brand owned by revolutionary businessman Konrad Bergstrom, and Finnish Q-Yachts, specialized in electric yachts with contemporary designs.
But Venice just cannot leave behind the traditional boats of its lagoon – the civil and military vessels of its history. A large area will be dedicated to sea services, including a sumptuous stand set up by FTP Industrial, which chose Venice to unveil some of the premium boat engines it produces to the international press.
