I am sure that we will not easily forget this edition as well as this very difficult year that has profoundly marked the lives of all of us, requiring us a complete revision of our way of living and relating to others, especially on occasions like this where the organizational machine has been severely tested. I am particularly proud to have brought an event so significant to my city this year that it increasingly represents it since it speaks of sailing, the sea and hospitality, where Venice is a teacher in the world. Sailing is a team sport and this year too we did it because this spirit of unity guided us and this is how we must always do in the face of adversity. For this I thank the owners, the crews and all the important entities involved the Municipality of Venice, the Police Forces, the hotels, the sponsors and all those who have done their utmost to complete successfully and in full compliance with the anti-Covid regulations this event that represents the spirit of a seafaring tradition that has always been the strength of this unique city in the world

The Councilor for Tourism Simone Venturini, hosted on the Moro di Venezia, highlighted the importance of this indispensable event for the tourist and social development of the city which historically has always had a privileged relationship with the sea confirmed by the success of the Venice Boat Show.

Sailing, sustainability and health safety

This edition wanted to highlight the strong commitment to sustainability and attention to the sea. The Venice Municipal Administration, the Venice Hospitality Challenge, the Yacht Club Venezia and the participating hotels have acted in accordance with the Charta Smeralda signed in 2018, the ethical protocol of the One Ocean Foundation aimed at spreading international awareness on environmental issues concerning the marine ecosystem.

Sustainability also means zero emission and this seventh edition saw the GFG Style Vision 2030 prototype car, a full electric hypersuv 4×4 designed by Fabrizio and Giorgetto Giugiaro, positioned in front of the banks of San Marco, with buoy functions to mark the course of the regatta.
