The International SeaKeepers Society
Founded in Monaco in 1998, the International SeaKeepers Society is a nonprofit organization committed to oceanographic research that has supported ocean conservation through direct involvement with the yachting community for 25 years. What began as a data collection program aboard selected luxury yachts has evolved to involve thousands of participants each year with at-sea and coastal programs.
It also provides educational resources and hands-on marine science experiences to students, a primary goal for ensuring the well-being of our planet. SeaKeepers enables the recreational boating community to take full advantage of its unique potential to advance marine science and raise awareness of global ocean issues.
Today SeaKeepers’ mission is focused on the DISCOVERY Yacht program, which includes scientist-led expeditions, citizen science, educational outreach and community involvement.
SeaKeepers is a catalyst that partners with governments, scientists, institutions, and other marine organizations to advance its mission and support marine protection and conservation with reasonable and achievable projects. Activities are carried out globally through the efforts of the headquarters in the United States, offices located on the East and West Coasts, and international representations in Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the South Pacific.
