G-Train: the first private train. Between luxury and sustainability.

G-Train, Thierry Gaugain recently presented his latest, incredible idea: 14 carriages for almost 400 meters in length for the first train that will not include tickets or passengers.

In fact, G-Train was designed to be purchased by a single owner.

A palace on rails

To date, only renderings have been presented but the project is already sensational.

The lucky buyer, who doesn’t exist yet, could grab this gorgeous private train for around $ 350 million.

The timing of implementation? Not less than two and a half years.

Gaugain, already famous for having designed splendid and iconic yachts, the most important of which is undoubtedly Venus, the 80-meter that belonged to Steve Jobs, wanted to give rail transport a whole new charm.

Extreme luxury in the carriage: the trains will be made of “smart” glass, a material that can be transformed from glossy to opaque or to black in order to transform the atmosphere of the train with a single button.

When the train stops for the rest stations, the wagons will have the possibility of opening large terraces from which to enjoy the view without getting off the train.

Luxury will be the main feature of any G-train environment. The lucky guests can take advantage of services such as spa, gym, cinema and restaurant.

G-train will travel at 160 km per hour and can accommodate up to 18 people for the night, in the splendid suites set up in the wagons.

Sustainable train for “a madman”

“This train is meant for a madman, but in a good way,” said Gaugain. “It allows access to many more areas than a yacht and would open a new chapter in the life of owners. Really, it’s the perfect way to travel ”.

In fact, even the environment could thank: it is now known that the train is one of the most environmentally sustainable means of traveling great distances.
