Louis Vuitton’s green streetwear

The most environmentally conscious proposal of the great fashion house comes from the most casual and sporty style.

The credit for the conception of this innovative product goes to Virgin Abloh, who has headed the Vuitton men’s division since 2018.

The passion of this very particular engineer “stolen from fashion numbers” for hip hop gave birth to Charlie, a sneaker that will be remembered.

Charlie’s characteristics: the green sneaker by Louis Vuitton

The sustainable soul of this sneaker starts from the upper.

It is in fact made of recycled polyester and Biopolyols, a corn-based biomaterial.

Moving on to the sole, it too boasts a production with over 94% recycled rubber that does not detract from the great quality of cushioning guaranteed by Louis Vuitton standards.

The strings? Naturally created with all recycled material and also the tabs, both on the front and on the back, have been made of Econyl, a material derived from nylon waste.

Charlie’s sustainable workmanship ends with the insole and lining: fully recycled polyurethane and polyester are the basis of their production.

Savings of 70% of new material: this is the result obtained by Louis Vuitton thanks to the ecological packaging, completely made of recycled cardboard.

Not only that: the maison’s attention to sustainability and fashion does not stop at the green box: the packaging of the Charlie sneakers in fact turns into a practical bag, to always carry with you.

Showing off Charlie on your feet and an excellent Louis Vuitton recycled cardboard bag are the new weapons for the green battle of sustainable luxury fashion.
