Three giants in the world of luxury e-commerce are shaking up the world of luxury fashion.
Zalando, Yoox Net-a-Porter and About You have engaged in a collaboration whose main purpose is to reduce and limit the environmental impact.
In fact, starting next autumn, the three brands will unite to provide a platform in which, for free, the partner brands will be able to participate in learning programs all focused on the different nuances of sustainability.
Sustainable luxury: the free platform
This new platform will be useful and used by the brand partners to obtain concrete help in order to understand and measure gas emissions, but above all how to manage concrete operations to reduce them.
The defined objectives will be submitted to the Science Based Targets (SBTi) initiative to be officially approved.
Fundamental to this program is the collaboration of Zalando, Yoox Net-a-Porter and About You with Quantis, a leading consulting firm for over twenty years in the field of corporate sustainability.
By combining environmental science knowledge with business strategy, the purpose of the three brands united in the platform project is to offer business advice to business leaders on how to reduce their environmental impact.
The collaboration of the three brands will start with the pilot project next autumn and will then be extended next year to all brands that will be recognized as meeting the right requirements to be able to receive a free mentoring service.
In the meantime, each of the three brands is also striving individually to pursue their sustainability goals: Business of Fashion reports that, by 2025, both Zalando and About You aspire to have 90% of partner brands on board whose reduction targets of gas emissions have been approved. The Richemont group, owner of Yoox and Net-a-Porter, is aiming for 20% within the same year.
