Milan Fashion Week has begun with a calendar rich in events. In total, there are 159 collections, 63 runway shows, 20 events and even 2 jumbo screens, one in Piazza San Babila and the second in Piazza Gae Aulenti.
Opening day included Gucci’s highly-anticipated show presenting the Spring/Summer 2018 collection, with a front row full of celebrities, including Hollywood star Dakota Johnson, who also happens to be the face of the new Gucci Bloom fragrance.
Among some of the most-awaited events on the calendar are runways shows from Roberto Cavalli, Versace, Prada, Giorgio Armani and the debut of designers Lucie and Luke Meier for Jil Sander. Not-to-be-missed soirees include the Swarovski Crystal Wonderland Party and the Green Carpet Fashion Awards, a ceremony to honour brands and producers that stand out for their winning combination of fashion and sustainability, to be held in Piazza La Scala on Sunday, 24 September.
