On the 4st of July, Fendi will organize a high fashion show in Rome, in homage to Karl Lagerfeld, who for 54 years was the creative director of the maison. The announcement was made by Bernard Arnault, at the annual general assembly of LVMH.
With great sadness
said Arnault, the owner of the Fendi luxury group
we said goodbye to Karl, who was the heart and soul of this brand. Probably it was the longest collaboration ever between a designer and a fashion house, so leave Fendi an incredible legacy
The details of the event are still being defined, but the patron of Lvmh added that the parade will resume all the creations of Kaiser Karl during his stay at Fendi.
The project also foresees that the protagonists of the show will subsequently be the protagonists of an exhibition.
A Fendi spokesman explained that the collection will be exhibited in Rome after the fashion show. Details of the location and time are still being finalized.
No official communication, however, has yet been made regarding the successor of Lagerfeld da Fendi. The collection that will be exhibited in Rome will be designed by the brand’s creative team with Silvia Venturini Fendi.
