The Versace maison, closely linked to the artist with whom he collaborated between 1979 and 1998, is a partner of the exhibition that pays tribute to the undisputed genius of contemporary photography

For me, trust is the foundation of the best relationships. With Richard Avedon there was an absolute esteem. Trust in the light of him. Trust in his narrative. Trust in our joint vision. Trust in our relationship. Avedon and Versace are inseparable. Gianni and I loved working with him. We loved to spot the history of the campaign together and then watch him and the extraordinary models bring it to life. With or without clothes… The term iconic is sometimes abused, but these images are truly iconic

Donatella Versace remembers the years of her collaboration with Richard Avedon with emotion.

A journey through over one hundred images dedicated to telling the story of Avedon’s work, his passion for portraiture and his love for fashion. One section of the ten that animate the exhibition is dedicated to the collaboration with Versace, which began in 1979, the debut year of Gianni Versace and continued until 1998, when Donatella presented her first collection for the maison.
