In line with the path outlined in recent years, this season CNMI will give even more space to the theme of promoting emerging talents, with a series of initiatives focused on giving visibility to the new generation of Italian and international designers.

For 2022, the Camera Moda Fashion Trust, the first Italian philanthropic fashion community, renews its commitment to the new generation of Italian-made designers by launching an open call for independent brands that, once selected by an international jury, will have the opportunity to count on a program of financial support, business mentoring and one-on-one tutoring. The realization of this project is made possible thanks to the support of Scalapay and MAX & Co.

Furthermore, in this context, the joint work of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion and Maison Valentino plays an important role, which from season to season will see the Maison give visibility on its IG channel @maisonvalentino to the show of an emerging brand. The designer chosen for the debut of this project is Marco Rambaldi, whose show is scheduled for February 23 at 12 noon.

CNMI’s support for young talents also extends to the world of photography. Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana has in fact selected from the PhotoVogue platform – launched by Vogue Italia in 2011, now a global reality engaged in the research and support of talent in the field of visual arts – the photographer Eleonora d’Angelo, who took the shot of the new communication campaign of Milan Fashion Week Women’s Collection, which features 5 models in outfits from the Quira, AC9, Des_Phemmes, Tokyo James and ATXV brands, with styling by Roberta Pinna, at Villa Necchi Campiglio, Bene del FAI – Fondo per l ‘ Italian environment.

The communication campaign, created by CNMI in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan and Yes Milano, will be conveyed throughout the city through billboards and screens from 14 to 28 February 2022. Special thanks to Wella Professionals for taking care of the hairstyling of the models and that thanks to its team of over 50 stylists will then preside over the backstage of the February fashion shows.

Support for young people, but also promotion of inclusiveness and sustainability, will be the main focus of the projects hosted by the Fashion Hub, which will be inaugurated on February 22 in a new location inside the ADI Design Museum (piazza Compasso d’Oro 1 , entrance via Ceresio 7). At the Fashion Hub, a fashion show room will be made available to the brands on the calendar, while the usual collaboration with Senato Hotel Milano will guarantee space for a series of presentations of new talents.

The Milan Fashion Week Hashtag will also be placed, which will be customized by an exceptional street artist thanks to Scalapay, official partner of CNMI.

and quality, is pleased to host the Fashion Hub at the ADI Design Museum, a place where technique and imagination are at home

Also in the process of promoting young talents, internationalization and inclusion, the National Chamber of Italian Fashion has reconfirmed the support for the path of young designers of the “Fashion Bridges” project created together with the Italian Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa , and Polimoda, with the support of ICE Agenzia, with the involvement of the South African Fashion Week in Johannesburg, the participation of the Florence Center for Italian Fashion and the Nelson Mandela Forum Florence.

The four young South African talents (Fikile Zamagcino Sokhulu, Michael Peter Reid, Sipho Mbuto, Jacques Bam), who had the opportunity to present their collections created in tandem with four young Italian designers (Alessia Dovero, Julian Cerro, Domenico Orefice and Ilaria Bellomo) in September at the CNMI Fashion Hub and in October during South African Fashion Week in Johannesburg, they will now have the opportunity to make their brands known to the world of buyers and retailers thanks to the support of Camera Buyer Italia-The Best Shops.

During the February Fashion Week, a fashion video will be broadcast on the digital channels of Camera Buyer Italia-The Best Shops that will tell the designers’ collections and their strong appeal to the heritage of South Africa. The second edition of the project will instead take place next September with a selection of new talents from South Africa, who with their creativity and the mentoring of Polimoda, will give life to a new collection with 100% Italian fabrics and materials.

Also for this edition, the Milano Fashion Week Women’s Collection can be followed on the milanofashionweek.cameramoda.it platform, which will also host a section dedicated to virtual showrooms, both multi-brand and single-brand. Each showroom will have the opportunity to present, in relation to the brands approved by CNMI, photos and videos of the collections, contacts, sales campaign dates, press releases.

The showroom area will remain active even after the fashion week in order to be consulted by system operators even during the sales campaign. For the Fashion Week Women’s Collection in February, a calendar of showrooms will also be created with all the dates of the sales campaign and the contacts to be able to fix appointments: a useful work tool for Italian and international buyers to facilitate their agenda, which it will be disseminated through the CNMI channels.

The appointments of the week will be expanded all over the world, thus covering all the time-zones at the same time, thanks to the international partners: Kommersant Publishing house for Russia; Tencent Video, for mainland China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan); The Asahi Shimbun, for Japan.

While, the Italian streaming partner Urban Vision OOH will broadcast the contents in Milan, through a large screen positioned in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, a strategic point of the city. It will also be possible to view the contents of the Fashion Week in playback on YouTube thanks to the video channel partner Fashion Channel. CNMI will be active on its social channels: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter and Weibo, for which it will collaborate with Italian and international digital creators.

In spite of the uncertainty that still hangs in the air and the real difficulties of the moment, we are extremely proud to present a calendar full of projects and events that confirm the key role of Milan among the world fashion capitals. I believe it is a strong sign of optimism and positivity, which instills a new impetus in the sector

comments Carlo Capasa, President of CNMI.

We are also happy to announce on this occasion the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Municipality of Milan, aimed at enhancing the national fashion system. In this regard, our commitment will focus on four macro areas: the consolidation of the international positioning of Milan as a brand with a global value; raising awareness of sustainability, ethics and circular economy issues within the fashion supply chain; the promotion of emerging talents; the creation of new job opportunities in the creative industry

Chapeau to the fashion sector for the will and the courage to keep the calendar of events

says Carlo Ferro, President of ICE Agenzia

Sector exports, in line with national performance, are growing (+ 16.4% in the first ten months of 2021). However, the challenges we face are numerous, accelerated by the evolution of consumer behavior after the pandemic, such as digital and sustainable evolution. Along this line, and within the framework of the Pact for Export, we have set up our support strategy by combining reaction and vision: 19 actions to support companies, 19 services that did not exist three years ago. And, specifically for Milano Fashion Week, we support the National Chamber of Italian Fashion – which I thank – in an innovative business plan with particular attention to new trends, young talents, inclusiveness and sustainability. With the hope that this extraordinary moment will translate this recovery into a structural strengthening of our companies on changing markets

Also for this edition, the Fashion Week Insider’s Guide will be available in digital format. Made with a cover by the illustrator Alessandra Bruni, it will reveal the news of the fashion week, the unmissable events in the city and will allow you to learn more about the activities of CNMI.
