The conference will take place starting at 5 pm at the Hotel Mediterraneo in Rome, a historic building from 1939 located in front of Termini Station. On the occasion of the conference, the book “Disappeared and Unforgettable” and the story of the recovery of Rondetto, the hull with which the navigator Erik Pascoli crossed the Atlantic alone in 1969, will be presented.
PRESENTATION OF THE CALENDAR VELE VINTAGE 2022
Thanks to the easing of the restrictions caused by the pandemic, this year AIVE, the Italian Vintage Sails Association (www.aive-yachts.org), can return to organize a “face-to-face” meeting to announce the official calendar of scheduled regattas during 2022.
The appointment is set for Friday 4 March in Rome, starting at 5 pm, at the Hotel Bettoja Mediterraneo in Via Cavour 15, a three-minute walk from the Roma Termini railway station. It will also be an opportunity to celebrate the first 40 years of AIVE, an association founded in Milan in 1982 recognized by the FIV (Italian Federation of Vintage Sails).
Today the association has over 100 members (owners and non-owners) and has a library consisting of 500 books and 1500 yacht files. The event will be attended by personalities from the sailing world, owners and representatives of the Navy, the largest shipowner of vintage boats in Italy and perhaps in the world, always present at vintage sail rallies with their magnificent boats.
