Archiproducts Design Awards and LIT reward the creativity of the architect. GianPaolo Venier and the PIN – Urbi et Orbi outdoor lamp.

From the light-hearted creative vein of the architect Gian Paolo Venier – of the OTTO studio and from the stubborn research on the concrete material, a source of continuous inspiration for Urbi et Orbi, Pin is born, an outdoor lamp in concrete, which works in interlocking modules and can take three size.

Equipped with a dense and material surface, almost velvety, Pin is characterized by the use of a material, concrete in fact, which knows how to interpret the concept of strength, resistance and durability, but also of plasticity and lightness.

Presented exclusively at the Salone del Mobile 2022, Pin won the prestigious Archiproducts Design Awards in the “outdoor lighting” category, the international design competition that for over 20 years has aimed to identify, reward and celebrate excellence in design , which took place on 23 November in the Visconti Pavilion, inside the Ansaldo laboratories in Via Tortona 58 in Milan.

Born from the desire to pursue the culture of design, Archiproducts Design Awards counts on a jury of more than 60 designers, architects, journalists, creative directors, photographers from all over the world.

This year’s award for the manufacturer brand was designed by the Spanish studio MUT Design and created by De Castelli and wears the DeMarea Brass finish, with a “watercolor” effect obtained by superimposing manual oxidations applied to the brass, while the designer of PIN, arch. Venier was delivered a monolith in Gris du Marais® inspired by the logo of the Archiproducts Design Awards, created by Salvatori and signed by Michael Anastassiades.

Pin was awarded in the Desk Lamps, Floor Lamp category for the LIT Lighting Design Awards, created to recognize the work of lighting designers at an international level.

The award starts from the awareness of lighting as an art and science and of its primary importance as a design element.

The jury was composed of 35 experienced designers, lighting experts, teachers and media representatives.

An award that represents a consecration in the empyrean world of lighting design.
