Architecture, technology, home, fashion, sport and mobility, the categories among which the 6 winners who will compete at the London final will be announced next October.

Over 6,000 projects presented, including 1,500 Italians. After the success of last year, the 2018 edition of the Land Rover Born Awards has seen an even greater participation by designers and emerging designers in the six categories: architecture, technology, home, fashion, sport and mobility. “Peerless” or “Without Peers”: this is the way of designing and experimenting, presenting projects that stand out for their uniqueness, combining the values of excellence, design and skills in the various professions.

The 12 Italian finalists chosen by the jury of experts in the world of luxury and design, are:

  • Architecture: Cino Zucchi Architetti and MoDus;
  • Technology: Noah Guitars and Habits;
  • Home: Giacomo Moor and Lago Design;
  • Fashion: Vien Atelier and Tiziano Guardini;
  • Sport: Teckell and Sàpopa;
  • Mobility: New Turin and Epoch Industry

Only 6 of these will be the final winners who will expose their works during the Milan Design Week 2018 at the Gattinoni Hub and on April 18th, on the occasion of an exclusive event, will be awarded by Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Chief Design Officer, and Jean Christophe Chopin, founder and CEO of BORN. And only 6 will be the absolute winners of the Land Rover Born International Awards – selected among the participants from Italy, France, Spain, the United States and other award-winning countries – one for each category – in London next October.

The more than 6,000 projects that arrived after the launch of the contest at the international level, demonstrate the continuous and growing success of the Land Rover Born Awards and the values to which BORN and Land Rover are inspired, in the belief that creativity and innovation contribute significantly to the realization of a better world.

For Jean Christophe Chopin, founder e CEO di BORN “The mission of the BORN Awards is supporting, nurturing and celebrating the next generation of design thinkers and makers whose innovations will shape the lives of tomorrow. This is built on the core belief that while design might be everywhere, good design will not. Selecting just a few of the numerous projects presented has been an hard but stimulating task for me and for the other jury members. Creativity, innovation, elegance and uniqueness have been the great protagonists and have lead the designers in the realization of their works.”

“The common principle that Land Rover and BORN share – that design can, and does, change the world – looks to be as healthy as ever on the strength of this year’s Awards finalists! declared Gerry McGovern, Chief Design Officer Land Rover.

“These Awards bring together the brightest, the best and the most pioneering creators in the different categories and also this year the sheer scope of what is competing for the prizes is staggering. I am particularly proud – added Gerry McGovern – to present the Land Rover Born Awards during the prestigious and famous Milan Design Week”.
