In the world of fashion, designer Angela Bellomo has started to make a name for herself both as a stylist and a creative director, having collaborated with different internationally-renowned fashion brands over the years before landing in Milan. Atelier Angela Bellomo opened its doors in Corso di Porta Vittoria in May 2013, inviting shoppers in to admire the designer’s essential, elegant creations. What led her to open her workshop in Italy’s fashion capital? Her love of Milan. As she explained it: “Milan knows how to commandeer your identity, but if you’re a person of character, Milan can be conquered. And once you’ve conquered Milan, you can travel the world”. Since the day she opened her atelier, Bellomo has used the magic potion of haute couture for her creative and emotive growth, and it’s given her an exceptional ability to create inimitable pieces. Her clients have always turned to her because her creations are unique, customised, made-to-measure and studied down to the smallest details. Even the garment’s fabric (all her pieces are crafted from exquisite Made in Italy materials) can be customised. White, which dominates the space, represents purity and luminosity, reflecting the designer’s ethos. It’s also the colour of her creations, which enhance the inherent appeal of every woman. Yet saying her garments find life exclusively in white cloth is a bit too limiting. And indeed, the designer exercises her craft using the entire rainbow. Her sophisticated, bespoke clothes are rooted in design and made of ancient lace, the smallest details of each piece pondered over, enhanced by precious fabric. In the workshop, guests can admire cashmere and cashmere/silk knitwear, lingerie and basques, swimwear, goods made for special occasions and, of course, court shoes. Not to mention the superb, ultra-feminine jumpsuits and cargo trousers, ideal for office or evening wear. To be unique and radiant on the most important day of your life, Bellomo also offers wedding dresses, made with nothing but prized materials, embellished by gorgeous trimmings. Calling her pieces “caresses”, the kinds that are good to indulge in at least once in a lifetime, wouldn’t be an exaggeration. “Singularity, combined with simplicity and elegance”. The Atelier Angela Bellomo motto sums it up perfectly.
