Buccellati presented his new book dedicated to its one hundred years of history.
In the volume, the first “historical” book of the high jewelery and silverware maison, published by Assouline and edited by Alba Cappellieri, the salient moments of the company and its birth in Milan in the early 1900s are retraced, with contributions from Andrea Buccellati, Vivienne Becker and Franco Cologni.
Thanks to archival material, Buccellati presents magnificent jewels and silverware from the past that have been worn by princesses and actresses from all over the world.
The curator was also able to reconstruct the great cultural affinity and friendship between Mario Buccellati and the poet and writer Gabriele d’Annunzio.
On the occasion of the presentation of the book, Buccellati wanted to create a new collection of “Umbilical” necklaces, inspired by the historical ones commissioned by d’Annunzio, developing one-of-a-kind objects that will be exhibited during the events for the launch of the book in Milan, London, Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
