An immensely successful edition in the art of perfumery.

The 14th edition of Esxence – The Art Perfumery Event, of which Excellence Magazine was a media partner, concluded with great success, solidifying its position as an unmissable event in the international panorama of artistic perfumery. This extraordinary event reaffirmed Milan as the capital of research perfumery and the epicentre of new industry trends, promoting the most authentic and sought-after olfactory culture.

Esxence 2024 Exhibitors

With more than 12,000 attendees from all over the world, Esxence welcomed visitors from the community of operators and enthusiasts, featuring a selected parterre of 360 brands from 30 different countries. Over four days, a rich schedule of events, round tables and talks open to the public as well, enriched the landscape of niche perfumery.

The inauguration, attended by prominent institutional figures such as Alessia Cappello, Councillor for Labour and Economic Development of the Municipality of Milan, marked the beginning of an extraordinary experience that showcased the best protagonists in the industry. Every year, buyers, retailers, distributors, professionals, and enthusiasts gather in Milan to discover the latest innovations, learn about the most renowned brands, and uncover emerging talents.

This edition showcased an explosion of creativity and innovation. The olfactory notes triumphantly celebrated the cherry, enhancing fragrances for both person and room. Also prevalent were notes derived from the plant world, signifying the desire to return to the origins. The fragrances evoking space, the sky, and brightness were presented, symbolizing the desire to reach for the stars.

An interesting phenomenon is the evolution of the role of perfume, which no longer aims to seduce but rather to create and communicate a state of inner well-being and psychophysical balance. This indicates a profound connection between body and mind, highlighting that even through scent, it is possible to reach the soul.

On Saturday, open to the public, there was extraordinary participation, reflecting the growing interest the industry is garnering, especially among the younger people, who are very well informed about novelties and new trends. Additionally, there was significant participation in the fourth edition of Experience Lab, the event dedicated to research and excellence in beauty, which hosted a selection of the most innovative brands within the Italian and international panorama at the Allianz MiCo.

Esxence is a hub of excellence, idea exchange, and encounters, but it is also a space for business. Globally, the artistic perfumery industry is experiencing increasingly marked expansion, making significant contributions to the global beauty market. In Italy, this sector represents an important component of the economy, with an estimated turnover volume of over 310 million euros in 2023.
