Personalities who have distinguished themselves through their work in the relations between Italy and the US: this is the meaning of NIAF Italian Excellence Awards 2016, awarded in Rome Friday, September 30.
In the beautiful setting of the Roman Aquarium, the most important personalities of the business world and of the Italian institutions celebrated the gala of NIAF (National Italian American Foundation), point of reference for more than 25 million Americans who have its roots in Italy.
Excellence Magazine had the honor to be present at the event as “Main Partner” thanks to the collaboration agreement signed with NIAF. Present at this important event Luigi Lauro, President of Excellence Magazine. NIAF Italy was represented by Paolo Catalfamo, President NIAF Italy and Andrea Delfini, Vice President NIAF Italy.
The ceremony was masterfully organized and coordinated by David Rafanelli, Board Member and President of Lifestyle Council NIAF Italy; Francesca Macchia, Executive Director NIAF Italy; Marco Dell’Era, Media Relations Director NIAF Italy. The event was also supported by the partners Nero Hotels and 19:95 Food & Events.
The great Tenor Carmelo Sorce has open the event with his astonishing voice. Carmelo has become one of the most prolific operatic tenors of his generation. He has delighted audiences all over the world with his unique blend of opera and pop.
Excellence Magazine had donated to the President NIAF Italy Paolo Catalfamo a masterpiece by the Great Artist Renato Missaglia. The award ceremony has involved respectively Piercamillo Davigo, President of the National Association of Magistrates (Anm); Giovanni De Gennaro, President of the Center for American Studies and Chairman of Leonardo-Finmeccanic; Carlo Capasa, President of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion; Francesco Panella, entrepreneur and owner of the restaurant “Antica Pesa”.
NIAF Italy has also awarded Carlo Calenda, Minister of Economic Development and the actress Valeria Golino. During this Excellence event, could not miss the extraordinary designer Roxana Pansino which presented its fabulous Haute Couture creations.
Proceeds from the event will also be used to finance two scholarships at the Villanova University – School of Business in Philadephia, United States.
Also during the Gala, it was announced that the NIAF has already ‘raised over $ 800.000 for those affected by the earthquake of August. “The 2016 was a terrible year for the earthquake, thousands of Italians have lost their home. NIAF has promoted a fundraiser” – explained Paolo Catalfamo during the ceremony.
